Yesterday evening the shortlist was announced for this year’s BIMA Awards. We’re pleased to say that we’ve been shortlisted 4 times, for the This is Now campaign we did with Ford and for our work with Skype, helping them listen and respond in social media.

We’re chuffed to be in such great company, with AKQA leading the field with 6 shortlisted entries, DDB in second place with 5, and us in joint 3rd with LBi, ahead of others like Wieden+Kennedy and Agency Republic. Keep your fingers crossed for us on the evening of the 19th November, when the winners will be announced…

Update: We’ve been shortlisted for the 5th time, this time in the Best Blog category, which is being decided by a public vote.

The entry deadline for the BIMA awards is fast approaching, and this year they have a publicly voted category for Best Blog, which, dear readers, we’d very much like to win!

It’s not clear exactly how the nomination process works, so although we have put some budget aside for bribes for the judges, it does look like the more times we are nominated, the more likely it is we’ll be included in the list of 10 blogs the public (that’s you) will eventually vote on to decide the winner.

So, we’d very much appreciate it if you could do the following:

1. Go to the Best Blog page of their award site
2. Paste http://wearesocial.net/ into the nomination field
3. Hit submit
4. Ask all of your friends and colleagues to do the same (OK, we realise this may be stretching it a bit!)
