We’re already helping adidas, Heinz, Unilever, Heineken, eBay, Jaguar, Intel, Moët & Chandon & Expedia.
It’s that time of year again when everyone in the industry is frantically preparing for Social Media Week, which runs all next week from Mon 24th to Fri 28th September.
For those who don’t already know, Social Media Week is a worldwide event exploring the social, cultural and economic impact of social media. The idea is to get people and organisations connecting through collaboration, learning and sharing ideas and information.
There will be a series of debates, lectures, meet-ups and more across the globe in Barcelona, Berlin, Bogotá, Chicago, Glasgow, Hong Kong, Jeddah, London, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Seoul, Shanghai, Torino and Vancouver.
This year’s event promises to be the best yet, with more exciting events and big name speakers than ever before. With close to 150 London events already confirmed you’ll be spoilt for choice, but hopefully your choice of which of We Are Social’s events to choose will be an easy one. Both!
The We Are Social FMCG panel
From 10:00-11:00am on Tues 25th at Google’s funky new Campus in Shoreditch, We Are Social’s very own Tom Ollerton – equal parts Marketing Director and stand-up comedian, will be hosting a panel with some of the most innovative FMCG brands in the social media space to discuss the fine line between social media success and social media suicide.
How do brands avoid death by Edgerank? What are the positives about Google+, or is it really a big fat minus? Is Pinterest of interest? Is social commerce going to make you a commercial success?
On the day our panel of experts will be there for you to interrogate with all of your burning social media questions will include:
- Doug Cook, Brand Manager – Bulmers, Heineken in the UK
- Sarah Dossett, Brand Marketing Manager – Evian & Badoit, Danone Group
- Kata Bleyer, Brand & Innovation Manager – Dr Pepper, Coca-Cola
- Jerry Daykin, Social Media & Community Manager – Cadbury & Kraft
Space is limited, so register now before spaces run out.
The We Are Social Social Media Week Social Media Pub Quiz
For something more light-hearted, be sure to attend The We Are Social Social Media Week Social Media Pub Quiz on the evening of Wed 26th from 7:00-9:30pm.
Do you find that any internal monologues you ever have are inexplicably accompanied by an image of Fry from Futurama looking quizzical? Would you agree that any email correspondence, no matter how important, can be improved by the simple addition of a Lolcat? Then the We Are Social Social Media Week Social Media Pub Quiz (or #TWASSMWSMPQ for short) is the place for you.
We’ll be celebrating the hilarious, transient and often completely bizarre world of the internet meme through the medium of a pub quiz. Feel free to get together with your colleagues and form a brand/agency team beforehand, or come along on your own and be hearded into a loose collective of teammates by Success Kid.
And if that’s not enough for you, our co-founder and Gobal Managing Director, Robin Grant, is speaking at two other events during the week:
Using Social to go Global
On Mon 24th from 10:00am-2:00pm at the Google Campus in Shoreditch, Robin will be contributing to the Using Social to go Global panel – talking both about the advice We Are Social gives to its clients on the subject and We Are Social’s own experience of using social media to help us grow to 240 people in 8 offices around the world…
Making Social Work for your Business
If you can’t make it as far east as Google’s Campus on Tuesday morning for our FMCG panel, then the alternative is Oracle’s Making Social Work for your Business session from 9:00am-1:00pm at Facebook’s new London HQ in Covent Garden, where at 11:00am Robin will be discussing how to engage at both global and local levels in social media, sharing lessons of what approaches work and highlighting those that don’t.
