Social, Digital and Mobile in Taiwan

by Simon Kemp in News

The latest in our series of reports on the Social, Digital and Mobile landscapes across Asia looks at Taiwan:

Some of the reports’ highlights include:

  • More than half of Taiwan’s internet users are aged 40 or over;
  • 86% of Taiwanese web users visit blogs each month – the highest in the world.

As we’ve seen in previous reports, mobile technology plays a central part in the digital behaviours across these countries, but in contrast to their Southeast Asian peers, more than half of Taiwan’s population owns a smartphone, with that number predicted to reach nearly two thirds by the end of 2012.
