Hello, we are social. We are a conversation agency. We help brands to listen, understand and engage in conversations in social media.

We’re a new kind of agency, but conversations between people are nothing new. Neither is the idea that ‘markets are conversations’.

We’re already helping Coca-Cola, Ford, Unilever, Microsoft, Tesco, Orange, Eurostar, Absolut and WWF.
If you’d like to chat about us helping you too, then give us a call on +44 20 7851 7560 or drop us an email.

What you need to know about Foursquare

by Robin Grant in News on 28 January 2010 at 16:41

Update: a more nuanced look Foursquare from Charles Arthur, Russell Davies and John Willshire, an interesting experiement from Harvard using Foursquare and one from Bravo on a seemingly much larger scale.

  • Foursquare is basically dodgeball right? Secondly, their set up is the generic internet set up from the past 10 years, with the word 'internet', replaced by 'social media', although I suppose that is a very common theme. The cult of the future and all that.

@Aleister - what you need is the network effect to kick in. The first person with a telephone probably felt a lot like you. Same with the fax machine. Nice idea, but not much use...

  • Hey Matt - yup, it's similar to dodgeball, but of course, dodgeball is no longer around.

And just to be clear, the presenation above is from 22squared, not Foursquare itself.
  • This is nice. The problem I've been having with using Foursquare, as with all such tools in their infancy, is that none of my friends use it. People have initially had a tough time 'getting it'. Admittedly not many of them work in social media. Circulating this around might convince a few heads.
