Andy - a really good point, which we'd agree with. Jordan did link to Marta Strickland's comments on the research, who also raised the same question.

I wonder how helpful it is to class the unique phenomenon that is Wikipedia as social media - given it accounts for half of Nielsen's '18% social-media-as-primary-vehicle-for-content-discovery' score above. It's hardly like 'wikis' as a category are up there with blogs and social networks as content discovery media.

Interesting to revisit the Neal's Yard debacle. I cringe for them when I think how totally underprepared they were for the Q&A but their defensive statement to PRWeek seems to show how little they've learnt from it. They missed their chance to respond in any meaningful way either during or after the debate and now appear to be withdrawing from the 'volatile' online space altogether. A bit of a shakeup needed, methinks.

Thanks for the post, hope it does indeed become semi-regular :)
- Katie

I'm glad about Twitters RT function. About time. Now they need to get a predictive @username function like on Tweetdeck or FB, built in URL shortening and the ability to search your own following/followers. In fact they should just make themselves altogether more like Tweetdeck.
